Stephen's Blog #1

I will be responding to Prompt #1 about what I think Number Theory is. Number theory really is the theory of numbers and how they relate to bigger concepts in math. This can be seen in logs, exponents, prime and composite numbers, even/odd numbers, integers, etc. Number theory is a branch of math concerned with properties and the simplicity of numbers applied to bigger math problems and concepts. Very basic concepts are in number theory, such as the things mentioned above, and also factorization and multiples of different numbers. Examples: gcd, lcm, lcd, etc. So, basically Number Theory is a just a broad topic of simple numbers and concepts applied to bigger concepts and math methods.
