Number theory is a type of arithmetic. It involves properties of numbers and it doesn't seem like a very complex type of math to me. We've been working with prime numbers, multiples, divisors, logs, matrices, etc. It seems that number theory is used daily without realizing it because we're simply touching up on basic math we have learned in the past. Number theory also involves logic.
